Julian Trevelyan
Julian Trevelyan (1910–1988) studied English Literature at Cambridge before moving to Paris, where he trained in etching at Atelier Dix-Sept alongside artists such as Miró and Picasso. In 1935 he purchased Durham Wharf in Hammersmith, which remained his lifelong home, studio, and a continual source of inspiration. Trevelyan later taught at Chelsea School of Art and the Royal College of Art, where he mentored a new generation of printmakers, including David Hockney and Norman Ackroyd.
