David Jones

David Jones (1895–1974) was both a painter and a pioneering British modernist poet. As an artist, he worked primarily in watercolour but was also an accomplished wood engraver and designer of inscriptions. Deeply influenced by Eric Gill and profoundly shaped by his experiences in World War I, Jones is celebrated for the diversity of his artistic and literary achievements.
