Duncan Grant

Duncan Grant (1885–1978) was a British painter and designer and a central member of the Bloomsbury Group. Born in Scotland, he studied art in London and Paris, where he encountered modern French painting. In 1913 he co-founded the Omega Workshops with Roger Fry and Vanessa Bell, applying Post-Impressionist ideas to interior design and everyday objects. Grant lived and worked for many years at Charleston, producing paintings, textiles, murals and theatre designs.
