In early June this year, we were fortunate to take part in a week-long trade mission to Japan, all with the support of the Department for Business and Trade, and the British Allied Trades Federation. We were in Japan alongside 14 other British brands, including other fantastic paper goods companies Wrap, Scribble and Daub, and Laura Stoddart.
We started our week with a full day of workshops at the fantastic ‘Playhouse’ in the Aoyama Fashion district, before setting up our stand for a 3 day show at Interior Lifestyle Tokyo taking place at Big Sight Exhibition Center.

We were there as part of a showcase of British brands and had the pleasure of introducing our collection of artist-designed greeting cards, notecards and paper goods to visitors from across Japan and beyond.
It was great to share the stories behind our artists, make new connections, and see such enthusiasm for our range. It also was wonderful to be able to meet some of our stockists in person, including the amazing Spiral Market - now a Tokyo mainstay which is home to exhibition spaces, lifestyle shops, and restaurants.

One product we were especially excited to have with us was our Pantomime Advent Calendar by Emily Sutton, which is being re-released this year. Full of colour and detail, it comes with six standees of characters to pose on the stage, and we’re very pleased to be bringing it back.
We also have four brand new Advent Calendars launching later this year, one of which is Angie Lewin’s Advent Wreath, designed to be hung on a wall or door. Visitors to our stand in Tokyo were able to enjoy a sneak peek.
An Art Angels trade show isn’t complete without a delay on the way home - this time it was an unplanned overnight stay in Reykjavik! Thank you to everyone who visited our stand, and to the organisers and translators for making it such a memorable event.
